  The Power Plan

"A National Development Plan Symposium"

A safe space for the youth voice...

The Government of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, through inter-ministerial/agency partnerships via the Office of the Prime Minister, The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and the College of The Bahamas seeks to execute a two day National Youth Symposium for key discussions on youth views regarding the National Development Plan and its broard agenda.  It is hoped that the discussions would allow for the youthful expressions of dreams and aspirations, and the consideration of primary objectives and proposed developments around the National Development Plan.

The key partners also include the volunteer team responsible for the production of the most recent draft of the Bahamas National Youth Policy, led by Attorney Tavarrie Smith, LLB (HONS).  Mr. Smith, along with his team and a group of facilitators will lead skills development activities and through group discussions at the symposium, will gather the thoughts from nearly two (200) participants, who will represent every district of The Bahamas.

Below, please find an applicaiton form which should be completed and submitted via this website.  Additionally, a photograph is manditory as it will be used for identification badges which will be distributed on site at the start of the Symposium.

The Symposium is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2015, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Melia Resort, Cable Beach, New Providence, The Bahamas. Meals and refreshments will be provided and the housing, air and groud transportation costs for all Family Island delegates selected to participate will be covered by the coordinating team.
